For a south-of-the-border feel, this Cocktail has all the right elements to make you grab a Sombrero, fling on a colourful poncho and grow a droopy mustache. This is a great variation of the classic Screwdriver Cocktail
- 3/4 shot Silver Tequila
- 3/4 shot Vodka
- 3 shots freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1/2 shot sloe gin
- 1/2 shot Galliano L'Autntico Liquer
To garnish - 1/2 orange slice
Place the first four ingredients into a Cocktail shaker or Boston Can filled with ice. Quick shake. Strain into an ice filled Colins glass. FLOAT Sloe Gin carefully onto the surface of the mixture until it blends nicely. FLOAT Galliano next into the glass.
Garnish with a thin slice of orange.
Th Screwdriver Cocktail was first created in the 1950s. Since then many variations have appeared - some so bad you never hear of them agan and some so good - they are repeated over and over again. This variation is one that has proved to be popular and a great succes for Mexican -themed parties. It is very alcoholic and does give a big kick. It is also not a cheap Cocktail to construct. With the comnination of Tequila, Vodka, Southern Comfort and Galliano, at a rough (supermarket/online) purchase cost, this will run to about £4.00 per Cocktail. Well worth it though!
