White Russian

If you like a smooth, creamy but a kick of caffeine and vodka Cocktail - well, a White Russian is the one for you.  It is a sophisticated, and relaxing. The Black Russian first appeared in Cocktail lounges around 1949. It didn't take long for a Mixologist to add something extra - the cream.  This addition adds a new and different dimension.  If you get a chance, compare the two.

Ingredients:
  • 2 Shot Vodka
  • 1 Shot Coffee Liqueur
  • 1/2 Shot Milk
  • 1/2 Shot Double Cream
How to make one:
  1. Place all the ingredients into a Boston Shaker over ice
  2. Strain into a chilled Old Fashioned tumbler glass
  3. Dust the top with grated nutmeg
  4. An alternative is not to shake all the ingredients together, but to layer the two constituents leaving a white top and the Vodka/coffee below.  Beware of white Moustaches.
Background:

The origins of a White Russian are unknown.  The differece bewteen a 'Black Russian' is the cream added to the ingredients.
